I live in the city of Tilburg in the Netherlands and I am working as an officer in the royal netherlands air force.
I'm almost 38 yaers of age and have a lovely girlfriend and togehter we have a beautifull daughter wich wil become 3 years old at my birthday. (the most beautifull gift ever)

My parents told me about the internet site about the teune family I belong to. I was very suprised about the great pictures and the story's.
 
But at the same time I am not sure that I belong to the same family.
 
My name is Ite GoitzeTeune, named exactly after my grand dad. I live in the Netherlands, working as an officer in the royal netherlands air force. The air force braught me to the U.S. in the first 4 months of this year. A pitty that I didn't know about the web site at that time, cause I would really have liked to talk and may be meet relatives in th U.S..
 
I can tell more about myself in future messages, first I like to know if the Teune family in the netherlands is related to your family.

Hi, Ite,
 I am almost certain you are related, there are many Ite's in my family, even my grandfather was named Ite.
My family came from the Netherlands, my greatgrandfather Johannes (born 1857) was the son of Daniel Pieters Teune.
One of Daniel Pieters Teune's other sons was Ite (born 1852) who I believe was your ancestor.
One of Ite's sons was Daniel who had a son Ite Goitze Teune.
I have attached two photos. The first is of Daniel and the second is of Ite Goitze and his family.
Maybe you could tell me everyone in the Ite Goitze photo?
So if this is your family we are not too distant of cousins.
But to be sure, please tell me your parents names and approximate dates of birth and I can probably check.

Ed, thank you for your quick response. It is a nice suprise that we are related pretty close. The pictures you send i recognized immediately. The picture of Daniel and his wive my grandmother gave to me as a present because I like pictures from the past. The picture below is a family picture including my parents, grandfather and grandmother. The other people are my uncles and aunts I shall give them names.

Standing from right to left; Mient Teune (oldest son and was an officer in the nl air force) next to him is my father Goitze Pieter (born febr. 6th 1944) he has a degree in music and teaches music like organ, piano he also is the director of a few choirs and orchestra's. The lady direct next to him is Stien wo is the wive of Piet Teune directly left next to her. The two people above them are Sjerp Troelstra and his wife Joke (Teune).  Piet and Joke are twins.To continu, next to Piet is Wiekie Kroon Teune, next to her stands her husband Joop Kroon. Next  person is Daan and the man at the far right is Menne Bos, underneath him sits his wife Anneke Bos Teune. Next to her sits Teunie, the wive of Daan. In the middle sits my grandmother Gee Teune van der Meulen born june 28th1916. Next to her sits my grandfather Ite Goitze Teune born june 30 1915 and died on april 6th 1980. To me they always have been very very nice people, my grandmother still is. On the left side of my grandfather sits my mother, Henderika Wilhelmina Teune Reinders born on march 6th 1943. The lady at the most right side is my aunt Eki, the wife of Mient. On the web site there are 2 pictures of his daughters, Emmelina and Erika.
