Yes, another Teune has come out of hiding. My name is Brandon, one of the Oregon Teune's. I found this site a while back and said hi, but that was about it. So, now I am back, sayin hi again. I do have a burning question that I am pretty sure someone here can answer for me. What is the proper way to pronounce "Teune"? I have talked to my granpa, Pete, and he said that it is Tee-yoon. However, myself and everyone else (including my grandpa) says Two-knee. Are either of these correct, are we off a bit? I don't think I will change the way I say it if it turns out that I have mis-pronounced it all these years, but I would like to know. K, time for bed, classes are sneaking up on me.
-Brandon
p.s. I will try to get some pictures of the Teune clan over Thanksgiving. I haven't really seen anything about my grandpa or any of the Oregon Teune's yet. But I haven't looked over the whole site yet either.

Hey Brandon, good to 'see' you here. All the midwest Teune's say Two-knee, if that helps. And we would LOVE to have more Oregon Teune pictures, please! Either post them here as attachments or email them to me and I'll make a branch and add them to the photo album section. The old pronunciation of Teune was from the German Thöne family name. In Dutch Teune is pronounced the same as German Thöne, which is like Toonah, where the oo is kind of like the oo in book. anyway, get a German speaker to pronounce the ö and you will have an idea. Hope to see pictures from you soon.
